Wylene (Roten) Graybeal

Wylene Roten Graybeal, age 91 of Warrensville, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at her home. Mrs Graybeal was born in Ashe County on January 22, 1931 to the late Rufus F. and Hattie Eller Roten. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, a sister, Juanita Wilcox and her husband of 62 years, James "Jim" D. Graybeal. She was a member of Warrensville United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Graybeal retired from Sprague Electric after 38 years. Known for her chicken and dumplings, Wylene and Jim always enjoyed having company over at their home. After she retired she was active in her community as a volunteer with hospice, Seagraves Care Center and was a Riverview Red Hatter. She always enjoyed the community meals at the Riverview Community Center. She loved her church, working in her flowers, cooking and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Graybeal is survived by: one daughter, Becky Russell and husband Mervyn of Warrensville, one son, Rev. Tom Graybeal and wife Mary of Warrensville, five grandchildren, Vickie Russell Cooper, Thomas Russell and wife Jennifer, Shane Graybeal and wife Tiffanie, Kristi Graybeal, Michael Graybeal and wife Allie, six great-grandchildren, Josie Russell, Will Russell, Alex Culver, Carter Graybeal, Everett Graybeal and Caroline Graybeal; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Michael Kurtz and Rev. Bob Roten.  Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
