Wilma (Taylor) Lewis

Wilma Taylor Lewis age 71 of West Jefferson died on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Lewis was born in Ashe County on December 23, 1946 to the late Walter Fred "Red" and Lucy Jean Mullis Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, sisters, Ella Ruth Taylor Chandler, Bertha Lou Taylor Kimberlin, brothers, Willard Blaine Taylor, Mack Edward Taylor, and Cecil Bruce Taylor. Wilma loved to read her Bible and enjoyed attending church at Buffalo Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included fishing, hunting, feeding and watching the birds.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar, Rev. Joey McClure and Rev. Ken Furches. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at Ashelawn.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by: her husband, Billy Joe Lewis better known as Bill, three sisters, Helen Marie Taylor Lewis, Dorothy Taylor Miller and Ollie Taylor Segraves all of West Jefferson, two brothers, Robert Wayne Taylor of Thomasville, and Earl Junior Taylor of West Jefferson, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also surviving are special friends, Margie & Stacy Turnmire, Peggy Ashley, Joe & Tammy Thore, Marlin Osborne, Clarence Cockerham, J.C. & Lynn Kemp and Dr. Jayne Leonard.

The family is meeting at the home of Ina Jean Ashley at 577 Lewis Road in West Jefferson.
