Walter Jones

Walter Jones, age 69 of Warrensville, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Ashe County to the late, Smith Aaron and Annie Ruth Turner Jones. In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by, three brothers, Bill, Harold and Delmer Jones and two sisters, Patsy Shaw and Suzie Lemly. Mr. Jones sung in the Fellowship Quartet. He enjoyed playing his guitar, running equipment and was the owner of Jones Logging. Walter dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Jones is survived by: his wife, Carol Dougherty Jones, one son, Michael Jones and wife Crystal of Warrensville, two grandchildren, Addison Jones and Eli Jones, two brothers, Danny Jones of Virginia and Ronnie Jones of Tennessee, one sister, Martha Weaver of Warrensville; also surviving are several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Clint Gilley Cemetery by Rev. J.C. Darnell and Rev. Joey McClure with Military Rites.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and at other times at the home on Carl Eastridge Road in Warrensville.
