Walter Reed Blevins

Walter Reed Blevins, age 79 of Lansing, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home.  Mr. Blevins was born October 26, 1940 in Ashe County to the late Freeman and Minnie Baldwin Blevins.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Purvey, Estel and Clayborn Blevins and sisters, Annie Lambert and Ella Mae Barker.  Mr. Blevins was a member of Greens Chapel Baptist Church.  Walter retired from Thomasville Furniture after 40 years of service.  After retirement he worked on lawnmowers in his spare time.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 27, 2020 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jimmy Eldreth and Rev. Kevin Kilby.  Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Blevins will lie in state one hour prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Blevins is survived by, his wife, Patsy Brown Blevins and sister, Mary Belle Mahaffey of Lansing. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
