Violet Bernice (Darr) Overwater

Violet Bernice Darr Overwater, age 94 of Laurel Springs formerly of Homeland, CA, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Overwater was born December 1, 1924 in Iowa to the late Frank and Annette Darr.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen Edward Overwater, two sons, Wayne Edward Overwater, Dale Allen Overwater and a sister, Bea.  Violet moved to North Carolina four years ago, she enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, November 24, 2019 following Sunday service at Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Overwater is survived by, granddaughter, Robyn Atwood, of Laurel Springs, great-granddaughter, Amanda Whitaker and husband Shawn of Sparta, great-great-grandchildren, Macey Abigail Whitaker and Olivia Peyton Whitaker, daughter-in-law, Linda Woody of Laurel Springs, several nieces, nephews and many friends also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church.
