Spencer Pennington

Spencer Pennington, age 83, of Warrensville, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson. He was born November 12, 1934 in Ashe County to Thomas and Esther Jones Pennington. Mr. Pennington was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Danford Parker Pennington; brothers, Raymond and Joe Pennington and sister, Opal Myers.

Surviving are his daughters, Maria Swartzwelder and husband Tom of Purlear, Susie Hardin and husband Rick of Warrensville, Patricia Pennington of Jefferson; his mother, Esther Jones Pennington of Jefferson; sister, Maggie Mortez of Jefferson; brothers, Walter Pennington of Jefferson, Carlos Pennington of Yadkin County; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Phipps General Store.
