Rickie Lane Lester

Rickie Lane Lester, age 65 of Hays, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Lester was born on December 2, 1957 in Greensboro to Sydney and Jettie Crutchfield Lester. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Cynthia Edd, and four brothers, Gary Lester, Darrell Lester, Larry Lester, and Mike Lester.

Mr. Lester worked in road construction for Vannoy Construction and Adams Construction for over 35 years. He was the biggest UNC basketball fan.

He is survived by:  son, Matthew (Heather) Lester of Hampstead, NC; daughter, Angel (Joey) Calhoun of Wilkesboro; son, Stephen (Courtney) Lester of Fayetteville, NC; son, Joey Dixon of Lansing; also surviving are ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Whitetop Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitetop, VA by Rev. Keith Woodie.
