Mary (Goodman) Jordan

Mary Goodman Jordan, age 75 of West Jefferson, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at her daughters home.  She was born September 22, 1945 in Ashe County to Warren and Eva Goodman.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband and best friend, Ray Jordan.  Mary was a loving wife, mother and MawMaw.  Mary was a friend to all and loved for her warm personality.

Mary is survived by her children, Jan and husband Matt Gregory, of Albemarle, NC; Jon and wife Mandy Jordan of Charlotte, NC. Her 3 grandchildren, Jackson, Eva and Robert Jordan, of Charlotte, NC, who were the light of her life.  Her greatest joy was watching them in sports, church, school or any activity they participated in.  Mary is also survived by 1 sister, Geneva Wilcox of Florida, 4 brothers, Rev. Johnny Goodman and Jimmy Goodman both of Jefferson, Rex Goodman of Wilkesboro and Andy Goodman of Fleetwood.

Mary was also well known for her hospitality and gladly opened her house and kitchen to family and friends alike.  Her kindness and generosity will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Goodman.  Burial will follow in the Jordan Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 pm Saturday, October 24th at Badger Funeral Home.
