John Stanley Treski

John Stanley Treski

John Stanley Treski, age 71 passed away on November 15, 2022 at Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center.  He was born in SC on June 22, 1951. Mr. Treski was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda Willingham Treski, his father, Edward Stanley Treski and infant brother, Edward Stanley Treski, Jr.

Stan attended A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, SC. He loved his 1969 Falcon classmates. At A. C. Flora he was an outstanding athlete in several sports. His love of exercise and staying fit continued throughout his life. He especially loved hiking the Appalachian Trail. Stan served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.  Stan graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Auburn University with a Master of Business Administration degree. He spent his career working in the field of Human Resources at Walt Disney World and Lowes Home Improvement.

He is survived by Jennifer Vannoy Treski, his sister, Fran Pitts (Lee), his son, Matt Treski (Ev), his daughter, Katie Horton, his daughter, Victoria Treski (Ryan Saunders) and his step son, Patrick Dollar. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren (Tyler Treski, Jackson Treski, Ava Treski, Quinn Saunders and Ivy Saunders) and 1 great grandchild, Colson Treski. His sisters-in-law Amanda Vannoy Johnston (Keith) and Mary “Peeps” Vannoy as well as several nephews and a niece also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of West Jefferson by Rev. Dr. Michael Lea and Rev. Patricia Turner.

Words cannot adequately express the family’s appreciation to the entire staff at Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center. The love, care and support shown to Stan will never be forgotten.  The goal of the Black Mountain Center Foundation is to benefit the residents served by the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center whose vision it is “to be a leader in the innovation, development and provision of specialized services for individuals with Neuro- degenerative disorders.”

The family respectfully requests no flowers, food or visits. Memorial gifts may be made to Black Mountain Center Foundation, Inc., 932 Old U.S. 70 Highway, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
