Harold "Dean" Mullis

Harold Dean Mullis, better known as "Dean", age 84 of Jefferson passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center.  Mr. Mullis was born on June 24, 1938 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Gordon and Florence Lambert Mullis.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sammie and Herbert Mullis as well as a sister, Lucille.  Dean enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard and watching old Western movies in his spare time.  He attended Temple Baptist Church.

Mr. Mullis is survived by his step-daughter, Danielle Blankenship (Nathan) of Wilkesboro, step-son, Jamie Osborne of Jefferson, one granddaughter, Breanna Rash of West Jefferson and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 5:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Michael Miller. The family will receive friends following the service.
