Gloria Lineberry Hanson, age 73 of Warrensville, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Gloria was born on July 24, 1949 in Randolph County, North Carolina to the late Ervin Scott and Sarah Lee Fogleman Lineberry.
Gloria graduated from Liberty High School; she received training from Charlotte Memorial Hospital and High Point Memorial Hospital. She worked as a lab technician in various labs throughout her career. She also worked in research and development for Bentley Laboratories in California. Gloria then worked as a medical assistant for several years prior to retiring from Dr. Robert Hutchins in Wilmington, North Carolina. She had the upmost respect for Dr. Hutchins and gained great satisfaction by caring for his patients. Gloria was also musically talented and enjoyed playing the piano and in earlier years, the organ. She was an avid reader and also collected angels and lighthouses. Due to her strong faith in God, she was able to persevere through her medical hardships.
Mrs. Hanson is survived by one son, Jason Hanson of West Jefferson, two sisters, Cheryl McIntosh (Julian) and Melinda Hyde (Neill) both of Asheboro, two step-brothers, Eddie Grant (Kathy) of Randleman and Marcus Rich of Wilmington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00pm at Badger Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service.
