Gale Dean McCoy

Gale Dean McCoy, better known as Vic, age 76 of Jefferson, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Margate Health and Rehab.  Mr. McCoy was born June 3, 1947 in Ashe County to the late Charles and Mary Jane Combs McCoy. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Charles McCoy and all his brothers and sisters.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Mr. McCoy worked as truck driver and he also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday August 30, 2023 at Badger Funeral Home by Rev. Richard Bare.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm prior to the service.

Mr. McCoy is survived by one daughter, Brandy McCoy-Pennington (Tommy) of West Jefferson and two sons, Vincent McCoy better known as Red of Crumpler and Dean Joseph McCoy better known as D. J. of West Jefferson. 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
