Dillard Wayne Jones

Dillard Wayne Jones, age, 92 of Warrensville, died Monday, November 12, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Jones was born Thursday, May 8, 1926 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Lester Edward and Cora Ethel Phipps Jones.  In addition to his parents Dillard was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Molly Owensby Jones on November 14, 2009.  Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by his son, Edward Jones, daughter, Karen Jones, grandson, Junior Jones, brothers, Grady and Grant Jones, as well as sisters, Ethel Eller, Hester Eller and Eula Mae Greer.  Dillard enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Jones is survived by: Five sons, JD Jones (Rosie) of Warrensville, Ronnie Jones (Matt) of Kannapolis, Rev. Wayne Jones (Joy) of West Jefferson, Lester Jones of Warrensville, and Harold Jones (Vicky) of Warrensville, Two daughters, Patricia Boone of Kannapolis and Cathy Eller (Kenny) of Warrensville, Two sisters, Lois Pennington and Jewel Wyatt both of Warrensville and special friend, Lucy Riddle.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Clifton Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Galgano and Rev. Jim Greer.  Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 PM prior to the service.
