Dean Sheets

Dean Sheets, age 89 of Lansing, passed away on Monday, January 09, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wilkes County, NC to the late Conley Glenn and Mary Jane Billings Sheets. Including his parents he was preceded in by all his brother and sisters, daughter, Keeta Jane Blevins and his wife Nada Stuart Sheets. He retired from Thomasville Furniture after 34 years. He was a hardworking man who would haul wood for neighbors and would work his farm. Dean was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church where he faithfully attended until his health wouldn’t allow. He always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren camping and fishing.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dwight Shepherd, Rev. Larry Shepherd, and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:30pm – 2:00pm on Sunday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Sheets is survived by: two sons, Harold Sheets and wife Penni of Wilkesboro and Kenneth Sheets of Lansing, three daughters, Kathy Shepherd and husband Dwight and Melanie Jones and husband Greg both of Lansing and Karen Blackburn and husband Clyde of Elkin; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family is meeting at the home of his daughter and son in-law, Kathy and Dwight Shepherd, 400 Country Lane in Lansing.
