Charles Arthur Richardson

Charles Arthur Richardson, better known as "Buck", age 92 of Warrensville, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Richardson was born on February 1, 1929 in Ashe County to James Kraft "Trigger" Richardson and Ada Elliott Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Edna Little, Delray Helper, and Gladys Ashley.

Buck liked hunting ginseng and gardening. He enjoyed sitting around talking to people and telling tales.

He is survived by:  his wife, Helen Turner Richardson; daughters, Patsy Lou Richardson Austin and husband Bob of Mouth of Wilson, VA, and Peggy Richardson Childress and husband Johnny of Warrensville; sister, Mary "Toots" Shumate of Warrensville; half-brother, Richard Richardson and wife Kathy of Maryland; half-sister, Sharon Hodge of Virginia; granddaughter, Vickie Michelle Flannagan and husband Stacy of Jefferson; also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Jeff Dollar and Rev. Tommy Dollar. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The body will lie in state from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. The family will not be present for the lie in state.

The family respectfully requests no food please. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
