Carolyn (Edmondson) Colvard

Carolyn Edmondson Colvard age 76 of West Jefferson died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Duke Medical Center, Hock Family Pavilion in Durham .  Mrs. Colvard was born on Tuesday, April 21, 1942 in Ashe County North Carolina to the late Millard Elmer and Jessie Roland Edmondson.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Benny Colvard and two brothers, Clyde and Larry Edmondson.  Carolyn was a member of West Jefferson United Methodist Church and her love for God took priority, she participated in many of the church fundraisers and she especially enjoyed helping with the church yard sale.  Mrs. Colvard also owned and operated local clothing store, Carolyn's Fashions where as the saying goes; "Drive a Mile, Save a Pile."  She loved going to the beach for vacation and spending time with her family.  Carolyn had a big heart and was always a help to others in the community.

Mrs. Colvard is survived by: two sons, Tracy Colvard and wife Jennifer of Raleigh, and Travis Colvard of Boone, two grandchildren, Callie and Connor Colvard of Raleigh, two sisters, Eloise Price of Warrensville and Joy Williams and husband John of Goode, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at  12:00 noon at West Jefferson United Methodist Church by Rev. Dan Gaddy and Rev. Martha Kincade.  The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:00 prior to the service in Hensley Hall.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
