Bette Jane (Dix) Schwirtz

Bette Jane Dix Schwirtz, was a vibrant soul who lived life to the fullest. At 97, she embraced her passion for dining out, eating, especially “sweets” and found joy in playing cards, with bridge being her favorite.  A resident of Jefferson she passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at her home.  Mrs. Schwirtz was born on Friday, February 26, 1926 in Sullivan County, Indiana to the late Eb and Elva Ruby Wallace Dix.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Rollin Schwirtz, two daughters, Linda Anderson and Cinda Weakley, son, Mike Garbett and step-son, Darald Schwirtz.

 Mrs. Schwirtz is survived by one daughter, Jackie Evans, step-son, Dan Schwirtz and wife, Lonna, nine grandchildren, Ken Anderson (Stephanie), Melanie Anderson, Michael Weakley, Stephanie Sprecher (Kirk), Elizabeth Brown (Scott), Justin Evans, Marrisa Evans Nunez (Alberto), Brendon Schwirtz (Katy) and Danielle Schwirtz, seventeen great-grandchildren, Emily Anderson Collier (Ryan), Abby Anderson, Lindsay Anderson Royalty (Andrew), Jordan Liechti, Jasmine Liechti, Madeline Sprecher, Sydney Sprecher, Sam Sprecher, Victoria Barrego, Chloe Brown, Grayson Schwirtz, Beckett Schwirtz, Malakai Schwirtz, Brielle Schwirtz, Landon Evans, Maizie Evans and Oliver Nunez,  four great great grandchildren, Kerrick Liechti Rodriguez, Adeline Bennett, Jameson Hunt, and Niklaus Hunt. 

 Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home with Ken Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday thirty minutes prior to the service.
