Barbara Ann (Houck) Adams

Barbara Ann Houck Adams, age 67 of Lansing, passed away, Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, March 4, 1952 to the late Elmer Paul Houck, Sr. and Ruth Virginia Jones Houck. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by, one brother, Elmer Paul Houck, Jr., one sister, Glenda Kathleen "Kathy" Bowman, one son, Eddie Adams and her husband, Rev. Thomas Dale Adams.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Joey McClure.  Burial will follow in the Sexton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm at Badger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adams is survived by: her boyfriend, Roger Day of West Jefferson, two daughters, Cher Adams of Mt. Airy and Melena Adams of  North Wilkesboro, one son, Timothy Adams and wife Jennifer of Lansing, two brothers, Keith Houck and Kenny Houck both of Hickory,  sisters in-law, Sandy Roten, Lena Mae Finley, Linda Brooks and husband Ralph all of Lansing and Elaine Adams of West Jefferson, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friends of the High Country State Parks; 1120 W. Brushy Fork Rd., Zionville, NC 28698 or to Sturgill’s Baptist Church c/o Edward Sturgill; 155 Fees Branch Rd., Lansing, NC 28643.

The family will be meeting at the home of Ralph and Linda Brooks; 1061 Big Piney Creek Road in Lansing.
