Arlie "Pete" Miller

Arlie Miller, better known as Pete, age 83 of Grassy Creek, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Miller was born February 23, 1935 in Ashe County to the late James and Lora Powers Miller. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by, his wife, Willa Deane, son Timmy Miller, brothers, Bobby, Avery and Arnold Miller and sister, Arlene Stansberry.  Mr. Miller loved mowing, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking and canning.  He was a caregiver to his wife before she passed away.  He attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Powers Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 -2 prior to the service.

Mr. Miller is survived by daughter, Brenda Greene and husband Harold of Fleetwood, son, Dennis Miller and wife, Becky of Grassy Creek, brothers, Austin Miller of Lansing, Guy Miller of Crumpler, Tom Miller of Jefferson & James Miller Jr. of Dover, DE, sisters, Edith Johnson of Grassy Creek & Betty Kerr of Ohio, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
