Ambrose "Jay" Joe Blevins

Ambrose Joe Blevins, better known as Jay, age 80 of Black Mountain, formerly of Creston, died Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center.  Jay was born May 11, 1939 in Ashe County to the late William and Bertha Cox Blevins.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Jimmy, Don, Lowell Sr. and Williams Blevins and nephew, Jimmy Blevins.  Jay enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, working with flowers in the greenhouse and being outside riding on golf carts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Anthony Roark.  Burial will follow in the Blevins Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Blevins is survived by, nieces and nephews Glenn Blevins of Mountain City, TN, Bertha Lee Houser of Creston, Charlene Blankenbeckler of Mountain City, Patricia Lowther of WV,  Lowell Blevins, Jr. of Creston, Mary Eastridge of Warrensville, and Sheri Plum of West Virginia. Also several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews also survive.
