Ronny Lee Ham, age 72, of Lansing, passed away at his home on Monday, July 6, 2026. He was born in Ashe County on Friday, November 13, 1953 to the late Earl Edward and Nora Marie Hurley Ham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dean Ham, Sr. and a sister, Ruby Ham Rash.

Ronny was a hardworking man whose strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. He spent many years employed in area manufacturing plants, faithfully providing for his family until the factories closed. He later worked at Lansing Shell before finishing his career with Vannoy Construction. No matter where he worked, Ronny was known as someone who wasn't afraid of hard work and took pride in every job he did.

In his spare time, Ronny enjoyed piddling and working on cars. Whether he was tinkering under the hood, fixing something that needed repair, or simply enjoying time in the garage, he found satisfaction in keeping his hands busy. More than anything, however, Ronny treasured the moments he spent with his family. He shared a special bond with his great-nieces, Emma Powers and Sadie Powers, who brought him tremendous joy and many treasured memories.

Ronny will be remembered for his quiet strength, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the love he had for those closest to him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara Spencer; one son, Tristen Ham, of the home; along with other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
