Peter Gregory Greer, better known as "Greg", age 60 of Lansing, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Greer was born on May 17, 1965 in Ashe County to Wayne and Rose Ann Absher Greer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He found great joy in woodworking, often creating beautiful wooden barn quilts and birdhouses that reflected both his skill and creativity. He was especially proud of his garden, which he tended with care and was admired by all who saw it. Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, he loved making others laugh and brought smiles wherever he went. A true friend to many, he will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the warmth he shared so freely.

Mr. Greer is survived by: two sisters, Debbie Greer of Jefferson and Ellen Woodie (Eddie) of Lansing; five brothers, Sammy Greer (Lynn), Roger Greer, Jimmy Dean Greer (Betty Lou), and Russell Greer, all of Lansing, and Rick Greer (Lynna) of Warrensville; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Preacher Nathan Mash. Burial will follow in the Carpenter Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service.
