Mary Sue Miller Payne died peacefully at her son's home in Fleetwood on March 20th, 2026. She was born on July 27th 1930 to AG and Bessie Mortetz Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband John Charles Payne her parents, four brothers John, Paul, Kent, and Robert. Two sisters Ann, and Cathleen.

Mary Sue is survived by her son Eric and his wife Teresa; one granddaughter Tonya Hurst and her husband Richard; one sister Sarah; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Sue worked many years at Ashe Savings and Loan. After her retirement she and John traveled in their motor home to most every state in the lower 48 and Hawaii on a cruise. They also enjoyed going on many cruises while living in Davenport Florida in the winter months.

The family would like to especially thank the Medi-Home caregivers Sydney, Trish, Katy, Presley, and Terry.

Services will be private and the family requests no flowers or food.
