Mary Teresa Abenante Ocuto

Mrs. Mary Teresa Abenante Ocuto, age 94 of West Jefferson, NC died on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Ocuto was born on June 19, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Luigi and Filomena Mele Abenante. Mrs. Ocuto was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony Ocuto, son, Robert Ocuto, sister, Jennie Renda, brother, Anthony Abenante, and granddaughter, Christina Ocuto. Mrs. Ocuto moved from Brooklyn to Long Island, NY then later to Coconut Creek, FL before settling in NC where she lived for the last 15 years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Jefferson.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father James Stuhrenberg. Burial will be held in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Ocuto is survived by: Son, John Ocuto of Spring Hill, FL, Son, Anthony Ocuto of Lake Worth, FL; also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
