Obituary

Mrs. Louise Hamm, age 69, of Lansing, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 20, 2026, at her home.

Born with a compassionate heart, Louise dedicated years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Ashe Services for the Aging, bringing comfort and care to many in her community. Before her illness, she was a faithful attendee of New Home Baptist Church. Louise found true joy in the simple, beautiful things in life—she was a wonderful cook whose meals brought family together, had a gentle green thumb in her flower garden, and held a deep love for all animals. In her quiet moments at home, she always looked forward to tuning in to The Young and the Restless.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Anthony Roark and Rev. John Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the chapel.

Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Reece, and a sister, Teresa Tuggle.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lacy Hamm; one son, Joe Hamm and wife Trish of Warrensville; one daughter, Taria Frisland and husband Calvin of Glade Valley; and a brother-in-law, Arnold Tuggle of Warrensville. She leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Clara Frisland of Glade Valley, Jessica Penley of Lansing, and Gloria Hamm and Melinda Hamm, both of Warrensville; a great-grandchild on the way; two brothers-in law, Ronald Hamm and wife, Kathy, of Whitetop, VA and Michael Hamm and wife, Wendy , of Creston; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family, c/o Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 US Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
