Larry Michael McCoy, better known as “Cowboy,” age 64, of Warrensville, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Cowboy was born on May 7, 1961, to Larry Kent McCoy and Mary Nell Roten McCoy. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Pennington McCoy; his son, Ethan McCoy and wife Rachall of Creston; his mother, Mary Nell Roten McCoy of Warrensville; and his sister, Evelyn Shoemake and husband Mike of Warrensville and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A man of strong faith, Cowboy loved the Lord and attended Morning Star Fellowship. He never met a stranger and was always willing to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Known for his warm heart and quick wit, Cowboy could always be counted on for a good, clean joke and loved making people laugh.
He enjoyed watching all kinds of ball games and especially cherished the simple pleasures in life, including his mother’s egg sandwiches and pickled eggs. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who deeply valued his family.
Cowboy worked for Vannoy Construction for 16 years and took great pride in his work. He later fulfilled a dream by helping establish McCoy’s Tire Service alongside his son, a venture that meant a great deal to him. No day was complete without a stop at Warrensville Fire Department for a soda pop or a trip to Wendy's for his favorite Frosty.
