Kenneth Brandon Lucas, age 34 of Calabash, NC, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC following a brief but brave battle with an invasive illness.
Brandon was born on August 11, 1991, in Raleigh, NC to two very proud parents, Kenneth Jackie Lucas and Sharon Weaver Lucas.
He was a chef and was most recently employed at Toasted in Calabash, NC. Brandon was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time deer hunting and fishing in the intercostal waters near Sunset Beach, NC. He was a true family man who loved spending time preparing amazing meals for his family and friends. Brandon was a loving uncle to Jack Allen and Elizabeth Lucas and truly enjoyed getting to spend time playing with them. Like his mother, he enjoyed listening to good music and making new friends.
Surviving are his devoted, loving parents, Kenneth and Sharon Lucas of Crumpler, NC; brother, David “Bradley” Lucas (Caitlyn), niece Elizabeth Lucas and nephew Jack Allen Lucas, all of Laurel Springs, NC; special friend, James Chapman of Glade Spring, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 3:30 pm in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel (5229 Ocean Hwy West, Shallotte, NC 28470). The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30pm at the funeral home.
In addition to the service in Shallotte, a Celebration of Life will also be held in the mountains where Brandon was raised on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 3:30pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30pm prior to the service. All who knew and loved are warmly invited to attend and share in a time of remembrance, fellowship, and celebration.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made towards the establishment of a memorial in loving memory and honor of Brandon. Donations may be sent via mail to The Lucas Family, 1344 Fred Pugh Road, Crumpler NC 28617 or sent digitally using VENMO @SWLucas.
