John Glen Neal, age 50 of Jefferson passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 at his home. John was born on September 12, 1975 in Kentucky to John Richard and Kathy Victoria Lee Neal. He was preceded in death by his father, John Richard Neal and one brother, Benjamin Zachariah Neal.

John found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, rafting, riding motorcycles, and enjoying all that nature had to offer. He was also an avid gun enthusiast and appreciated the craftsmanship and history behind them.

Mr. Neal is survived by his children, Blake Neal of West Jefferson and Brooke Neal of Laurel Springs, his mother, Kathy Neal of Jefferson, one brother, Jack Neal of Jefferson, three grandchildren, Penelope Neal, Ember McKiddy and Havannah Treadway as well as three nieces, Ivy Neal, Cricket Neal and Chloe Neal.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Mount Paddy Church by Rev. Tim Roten. Burial will follow in the Jefferson City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm one hour prior to the service.

John will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
