Jeffrey Doran Burnside, age 44, married to Erin Storey Burnside, died on Friday, July 31, 2026 in a fall accident at his home outside Lansing, NC. 

Jeff is survived by Erin Storey, (wife), his parents, Bill and Mildred Burnside, formerly of Albemarle and brother Brian Burnside, Courtney (wife), and their children Morgan and Brett, also of Albemarle, NC. Extended family members include Pam Teeter (aunt) of Montour Falls, NY, Jack Lynch (uncle) and family, of Jefferson, Pauline Lynch (aunt), Alan Lynch (uncle), Tammy(cousin) and Scott Garner, M.R. White and Virginia (aunt), Steve and Nancy Nettles (aunt), Ken Lynch (uncle) Mack Lynch (uncle) and numerous cousins. 

Known to his friends as Jeff, he had an adventurous spirit, and enjoyed hiking, fly fishing, and snowboarding. Jeff attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the BSA program while in high school, and carried a love of outdoor activities throughout his short life. Jeff attended Appalachian State University, and Southwest Community College, earning an Associate degree in Outdoor Recreation. 

He was employed for several years by Parker Tie Company in West Jefferson. He enjoyed developing relationships with other employees, and building bonds with many Parker Tie customers over the years. 

Jeff will be missed by family, friends, fellow employees and many acquaintances as he joins our Heavenly Father.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, NC.
