Obituary

Jean Towber Graybeal, age 84 of Warrensville passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at her home. She was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1941 to the late Peter and Alice McGinnis Towber. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Graybeal Sr. and a grandson, Ethan Shrader.

Jean charmed everyone she met with her spunky personality, quick wit, and warm spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Jean found great joy in serving others and sharing her Christian faith.

A faithful member of Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union, Jean dedicated many years to teaching Sunday School, touching the lives of countless children and adults with her kindness and wisdom of God's Word. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the fellowship and friendships she found there.

Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading a good book and spending quiet afternoons working puzzles. Her family will fondly remember the many delicious meals she prepared with love, as cooking for those she cared about brought her great happiness.

In her younger years, Jean especially enjoyed gardening, taking pride in growing beautiful flowers and plants. She was also talented at needlepoint.

She had a special love for fashion and a talent for putting together outfits that reflected her personality. Family and friends often admired her style and the thoughtful way she accessorized, always adding just the right touch. She also loved the thrill of finding a great bargain. Nothing made her smile quite like hearing that something had been found on sale or discovering a treasure at a thrift store for just a few dollars. Her sense of style, eye for a deal, and enthusiasm for sharing those finds with others will be fondly remembered.

Above all else, Jean loved her family. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared so freely.

Mrs. Graybeal is survived by her children, Sherree Graybeal of Warrensville, Gloria Graybeal of West Jefferson, and Thomas Graybeal II of Warrensville, one brother, Bill Towber (Francis) of Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Robin Wilson, Amber Wilson, Charlee Graybeal, Tommy Graybeal and Sophi Graybeal.
