Helen “Vicki” Wilson Murray, age 81, of Belews Creek, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. She was born in Monroe, NC to the late Dr. Frederick Mark Wilson and the late Helen Anderson Wilson. She is granddaughter to the late Dr. Mark Stanley Wilson and Virginia Mae Russel Wilson of Marlington, West Virginia and Clifton Thomas Anderson and Susie Frye Anderson of Monroe, NC.

Vicki attended Monroe High School and graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh. Vicki taught elementary school and pre-kindergarten for many years and adored children her entire life. She had a deep love for Jesus and her church, where she sang in the choir and participated in Bible studies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren and daughter, and going to the Kernersville YMCA. She was a kind and radiant light, not only to her family but to everyone she met, always having a compliment or kind word for those around her.

Vicki was preceded in death by her brother Clifton Wilson. She is survived by her daughter Helen Murray Altman and husband Wes, her three grandchildren Tate, Kaleigh and Dylan, lifelong friend Ted Murray, sister Nancy Queen and husband Christy, sister-in-law Alison Wilson, brother Mark Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.

Vicki was laid to rest in Ashe County, NC. The family will receive visitors in their home with arrangements to be announced separately.
