Obituary

Harold "Randall" Davis, age 75, of Crumpler, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, farmer, and friend. He was born in Ashe County on Saturday, August 5, 1950 to the late William Garvey and Ethel Poe Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Miller.

He spent 38 years working for Leviton Manufacturing, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of his career, Randall found great joy in farming. He loved working on the farm, tending to his cattle, and caring for his garden. His garden was a source of pride, and many people often commented on how beautiful and productive it was. Randall generously shared the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors, always enjoying the opportunity to help others. In his spare time, Randall enjoyed hunting and fishing and treasured the time he spent outdoors. He attended Cranberry Primitive Baptist Church in Laurel Springs, where he enjoyed worship and fellowship with his church family.

Randall proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. While stationed in Germany, he assisted in the construction of military bunkers, serving with honor and dedication. Those who knew Randall will remember his wonderful sense of humor and his friendly nature. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome. His kindness, generosity, and warm personality touched the lives of many throughout the community.
