Obituary

Glen Cecil Stuart, age 76, of Warrensville, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Born on Wednesday, April 12, 1950, in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Elder Rufas Davis and Girtie Ella Ham Stuart. In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Goss Stuart, and two brothers, Ray Stuart and Clarence Stuart.

A hardworking man with a steady hand at the wheel, Glen dedicated 40 years of his life to driving a tractor-trailer, navigating the open road with skill and dedication. Though his travels took him far and wide, he thoroughly enjoyed camping and taking trips to the beach, his heart always pulled him back to the Blue Ridge Mountains he called home and loved so dearly.

When he wasn't behind the wheel or enjoying the great outdoors, Glen could often be found relaxing in front of the television. He took great pleasure in the simple things, whether it was watching old westerns, catching a sports game, or tuning into his favorite car and antique shows.

He leaves behind a large and loving family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his son, Greg Stuart of Pulear; two daughters, Michelle Stuart Dancy and her husband Alan of Taylorsville, and Angie Stuart of North Wilkesboro; his step-son, David Goss of Laurel Springs; and his girlfriend, Mary Trivette. He is also survived by his brother, Rev. Thomas Stuart of Lansing, and two sisters, Mary Ruth Blalock of Newton and Louise Denny of Warrensville.

Glen’s legacy continues through his six grandchildren: Anthony Stuart and his wife Crystal, Nicole Osborne, Marissa Taylor and her husband Tyler, Ashely Jolly and her husband Charles, Jonathan Osborne and his wife Abbey, and Kendal Stuart. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Bentley Jolly, Madalyn Stuart, Carson Jolly, and Caden Stuart, and was awaiting a new great-grandchild expected in November, whose upcoming arrival brought him so much happiness; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Wurth and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating.
