George Coolidge Holman of Sanford, NC passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 17th, 2026.
George was born on April 1, 1947 to Freeman and Martha Holman. George served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a logger for over 40 years. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. George loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. He never met a stranger, loved telling stories and always had a smile on his face.
George is proceeded in death by four brothers Tom Holman, Harold Holman, Dwight Holman, Jim Holman, one sister Phyllis Holman and step son Jerry Maines and step great grandson Kallum and his dog peanut. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Dianne Holman, 3 step sons Lloyd (Krisit) Maines, Larry (Sheila) Maines and Butter (Donna) Maines. Grandchildren Jennifer (Joey) Kennedy, Samantha (John) Ray, Preston ( Alexis) Maines, Cassie (Marcus) Richard, Tracy (Krista) Keyes -Hughes, Mary (Matthew) Kiger, Lauren Jamison, Ashley (Don) Ewing, Daniel Jamison, and Chelsea (Austin) Smith. Great Grandchildren Hailey Kennedy, Braden Kulisiewicz, Gracie Kennedy, Gaige Lee, Kenley Higdon, Raiden Kiger, Raelyn Kiger, Jonah Kennedy, Stella Richard, Little Raiden Smith, Zander Maines, Ena Richard, Axel Smith and Deagan Maines. Four sisters Anna Mae Goodman, Vivian Martin, Peggy Calloway and Kathryn Holman Four Brothers Wayne, Mike, Kyle and Robbie. Several nieces and nephews. Also, his special baby girl Lady Bug.
Pallbearers Preston Maines, Joey Kennedy, Matthew Kiger, John Ray, Miquel Lopez and Marcus Richard.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 28 from 6pm to 8pm at Miller Boles Funeral Home in Sanford, North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 2pm at Robert E Crouse Cemetery in Sparta, North Carolina.
