Elsie Eldreth Trivette, age 88 of West Jefferson passed away on June 2, 2026 at Margate Health & Rehab surrounded by the love of her family and the many memories she created throughout a life well lived. She was born on November 26, 1937 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Oscar and Francis “Frankie” Hamm Eldreth. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Worth Eldreth and four sisters, Helen Osborne, Opal Hogan, Ruth Hall and Sue Blevins.

A faithful member of Big Flatts Baptist Church, Elsie lived her life guided by her faith, kindness, and devotion to those she loved.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Elsie enjoyed spending her days reading a good book, taking walks, and searching for hidden treasures at yard sales and thrift stores. She had a talent for gardening and took great pride in tending her flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor, sharing her homemade goods with family and friends.

Above all else, Elsie cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent making memories with them.

Mrs. Trivette is survived by her husband, Gwyn Trivette, three sons, Jeff Trivette (Michelle) of Lenoir, Robert Trivette (Katinka) of West Jefferson and Tony Trivette (Regina) of Yadkinville, one brother, John Eldreth (Cecil) of Wilkesboro, one sister, Mary Jordon of Fleetwood. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Ronnie, Josh, T.J., Kristin, Nick, Colton, Kaleb, Seirra, Angel, Kelsey, Kim, Stephanie and Taylor, 31 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 3:00pm at Big Flatts Baptist Church by Rev. Chris Cox. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elsie's legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love and influence will remain with them for generations to come.
