Mr. Edward Lee “Eddie” Severt, age 74, of West Jefferson, passed away Saturday night, April 4, 2026, at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Severt was born in Ashe County on March 3, 1952, to the late Arvil Lee Severt. He was a hardworking Christian man who loved staying busy. Eddie had a passion for working on cars and repairing lawn mowers and was well known for his ability to fix small engines. He took great pride in his work and in keeping his yard perfectly mowed. Above all, he cherished his family and shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. J.D. Walton and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow in George Miller Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Severt is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sarah Royal Severt; several nieces and nephews also survive.
