Christina Perry Blevins age 96 of West Jefferson passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ashe County on Thursday, September 5, 1929 to the late Monroe and Ollie Davis Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Clinton Wane Blevins, her daughter, Virginia Shephard, grandson, Travis Miller, daughter in-law, Alison Blevins, step great grandson, Jesse, brother, Voil Marshall Perry, an infant brother, sisters, Maudie Blevins, Doris Taylor and Lillie Blevins.
A devoted homemaker for most of her life, Christina found happiness in caring for those she loved and creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She later worked as a cook at Eldreth’s Inn in Jefferson, where her caring nature and talent in the kitchen were appreciated by many.
Christina had a deep love for gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers, working in her garden, canning vegetables, or could be found singing or watching the birds from her porch. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting, leaving behind many treasured creations made with love and care. Known as a wonderful cook, her chicken and dumplings became a favorite meal among family and friends and will always be remembered around the table she so lovingly gathered everyone around.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a faithful member of Divine Hope Baptist Church. Christina cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Whether traveling, sharing meals, or simply spending time together, she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by: five sons, Ira Blevins and wife Dixie of Amissville, VA, Gale Blevins and wife Freda of Whitetop, VA, Howard Blevins and wife Patricia of Mouth of Wilson, Clifford Blevins of North Wilkesboro, and James Blevins of West Jefferson, one daughter, Edith Osborne of Lansing, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Joey McClure and Minister David Lyalls. Burial will follow in the Haw Orchard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Friday, May 15, 2026 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Christina will be remembered for her kind heart, strong faith, gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely to everyone blessed to know her.
