Catherine Marie Hunt, age 67 of Wilkesboro passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at her home. She was born on February 7, 1959 in Ohio to the late Homer Richard and Joann Stacy Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Bobby Ann Hunt and a nephew, Taylor Hayes.

Catherine found great joy in the simple beauties of life. She especially loved flower gardening and spent many hours tending to her flowers and enjoying the beauty they brought to her home. She also had a special love for dogs and treasured the companionship and comfort they provided throughout her life.

She will be remembered for her caring nature, her appreciation for God’s creation, and the warmth she shared with her family and her deep love she had for her grandchildren. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by one daughter, Selena Anderson (Brian) of Piney Creek, her companion, Jimmy Lyalls of Wilkesboro, two brothers, Richard Hunt (Martha) of Florida and Samuel Hunt of Raleigh, two sisters, Billie Joe Kane of Florida and Christina Hayes (Randall) of Raleigh, two grandchildren, Hunter Anderson and Madison Anderson and her fur baby, Rebel.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 4:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Father Jacob Mlakar. 

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00pm one hour prior to the service.
