Bobby Dennis Worley, age 95, of West Jefferson, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on December 3, 1930 to the late Samuel Thomas and Margaret “Hazel” Stephens Worley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, June Worley.

Through the years, Bobby was known throughout the community for playing gospel and bluegrass music and shared his talent with local musicians. It was also an opportunity to gather with friends and neighbors to play and sing.

In addition to his musical talents, Bobby had a passion for woodworking. He enjoyed working with his hands and his work was always admired and appreciated.

Bobby will be remembered as a kind-hearted man who valued simple pleasures, hard work, and time spent with those he loved.

Mr. Worley is survived by his wife, Mary Worley, two sons, Dennis Worley (Joan) of Rising Sun, Maryland and Anthony Worley of West Jefferson, three grandchildren, Matt Worley and Jessica Worley both of Maryland and Micah Worley of West Jefferson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Kemp Lewis Cemetery by Chaplain Richard Reeves.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Buffalo Community Center on Thursday prior to the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Medi-Home Hospice; PO Box 421 in Jefferson.
