Allen Dwight Miller age, 71 of Lansing passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026 at his home. He was surrounded with a wonderful loving, caring nurse, Lisa Ham, Audrey, Patsy, Freda, Grace and Sam.

Allen was born on March 27, 1954 in Jefferson, North Carolina to the late Clen Archie Miller and Byrl Jean Powers Miller. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Clen Miller, Tony Glen Miller and sister Rita Diane Miller Calhoun.

He was raised in South Big Horse Creek, Lansing, North Carolina then moved to West Jefferson, North Carolina at age 14. He then later moved back to South Big Horse Creek and made his home there with his wife, Audrey.

Allen was a skilled roofer by trade. He loved the simple pleasures in life and he loved competition. Allen was a fan of NASCAR, dirt track racing, playing pool, riding four-wheelers, pitching horse shoes, football, basketball, baseball, softball, fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Allen has fond memories with special lifelong friends playing with a softball team called “G&R Builders”.

Allen is survived by his wife, Audrey Miller, one brother, Sammy Eddie Miller (Angie) of Laurel Springs, three sisters, Geneva Grace Paisley of Jefferson, Freda Jean Kasey of West Jefferson, Patsy Jane Lewis of Lansing, 11 nieces and 13 nephews.

Then cancer raised its ugly head, Allen will celebrate his 72nd birthday with Jesus. Let’s give thanks and praise the Lord because he is cancer free now.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 7:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. J.D. Walton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm two hours prior to the funeral service.

Graveside Services for family will be held in Hart Ham Miller Jones Cemetery

To Allen’s care team: My heart overflows with appreciation and gratitude. They even made it possible for his final wish, to be home at the end. May God send you overflowing blessings.
