Roger Lee Cox, age 76 of Creston, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his home. Mr. Cox was born September 4, 1941 in Ashe County to the late Edgar and Esther Mayberry Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Cox. Mr. Cox was a member of Little Laurel United Methodist Church and served as superintendent. He loved to sing and listen to gospel music. Roger was a retired member of the Creston Volunteer Fire Dept. He loved hunting, especially coon hunting. He also enjoyed farming, working with his animals and being outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Warren Lunsford. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday, Sept. 1st at Badger Funeral Home.
Mr. Cox is survived by, his wife, Louise Patrick Cox, sons, Ray, Ronnie and Jeff Cox all of Creston, brothers, Lloyd, Bill and Walter Cox all of Creston, sisters, Chessie Eldreth of Creston and Lillian Calhoun of Crumpler, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
