Joshua Roten

Joshua Roten

Josh is a local owner of the firm and a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Josh is a native of Ashe County. He graduated from Ashe County High School in 2001 and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2003. Working with the community is very important to Josh as he is involved with various local civic organizations: the Jeffersons Rotary Club, the Jefferson Camp of Gideons International, the Ashe Masonic Lodge, Oasis Shriners, and the Ashe Shrine Club. Josh also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of Union Baptist Church in Lansing, NC. He is the son of Tim and Roxann Rhodes Roten of Lansing, grandson of Lena Sexton Rhodes, the late Gilbert Rhodes and J.B. and Ilene Roten. Josh is engaged to Holly McIntyre, a Literary Specialist at Mountain View Elementary School. They are planning for their upcoming wedding on October 18, 2009. Josh views his occupation as a calling and pledges to serve each family with the utmost care and compassion.

D. David VanHoy

David, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, has been associated with us since 1997 and is a 1999 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta. He is a 1987 Bachelor of Arts graduate of Gardner -Webb University. He received his Masters Degree from Appalachian State University in 1996. From 1987 until 1997, he served as a member of the English Faculty at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He is an active member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.

Herbert Parunak

Herbert Parunak

Herb has been a resident of Ashe County since 1975 and has been associated with funeral service since June of 1998. He is a licensed funeral director, advanced funeral planning counselor, and a cemetery sales representative. He also serves as pastor of Highland View Baptist Church in Deep Gap, North Carolina.

Renita Roten

Renita Roten

Renita Roten is a native of Ashe County. She is a graduate of Northwest Ashe High School. She has been employed with us since 2000 as an administrative assistant. She resides in West Jefferson with her husband, Danny and children, Brian and Ashleigh. She attends Bristol Baptist Church in Jefferson.

Melissa Greene

Melissa Greene

Melissa has been employed with us as an administrative assistant since 2004 and is a native of Ashe County. She is a graduate of Northwest Ashe High School. She resides in Lansing with her husband, Scott and son, Justin. She attends North Beaver Baptist Church in West Jefferson.

Lloyd Day

Lloyd is a native of Ashe County. He is a graduate of Ashe Central High School. Lloyd has been employed with us since 2001 as a funeral assistant. Lloyd has been a minister since 1971 and serves as pastor of Sturgills Baptist Church in Lansing. Lloyd, and his wife Letha, reside in West Jefferson.

Jim Greer

Jim has lived in Ashe County most of his life. He is a graduate of Northwest Ashe High School. Jim has been employed with us since 1993 as a funeral assistant. Jim has been a minister since 1977 and serves as pastor of Sugar Tree Baptist Church in Warrensville. Jim and his wife Judy reside in Warrensville.

Travis Wallace

Travis Wallace

Travis has been employed with us since 1995 as a part-time funeral assistant. Travis resides in West Jefferson and attends Bethany United Methodist Church.

Kermit Wilcox

Kermit Wilcox

Kermit is a native of Ashe County. Kermit has been employed with us since 2003 as a part-time funeral assistant. He resides in Lansing and attends Sturgills Baptist Church.

Jim Jones

Jim Jones

Jim has been with us since 1993 as part of our cemetery maintenance team. He has three sons, Gerald, Randy, and Tracy, and four grandchildren.

Travis Miller

Travis Miller

Travis, our cemetery maintenance supervisor, has been with us since 1999. He is a 1994 graduate of Ashe Central High School. Travis, his wife, Melissa, and their son Christopher, reside in Crumpler.

Walter Black

Walter Black

Walter has been with us since July 2007 as part of our cemetery maintenance team. He and his wife, Bonnie reside in Warrensville and have two children and two grandchildren. He is a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and the church clerk.
