Georgia Powers Tedder

Mrs. Georgia Powers Tedder, age 94 of West Jefferson, died on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Mountain Living Adult Care Home. Mrs. Tedder was born on January 26, 1920 in Lansing to Harrison and Kate Adams Powers. Mrs. Tedder was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gordon Tedder. Mrs. Tedder was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lansing. She worked for Leviton Manufacturing for 37 years, retiring at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Greer, and Brother Johnny Johnson. Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tedder is survived by: daughter, Joann Hall and husband Dean of West Jefferson; brother, Elmo Powers of N. Wilkesboro; sister, Peggy Curd of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Cynthia, Gregory, and Robert; eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Blake, Georgia, Noah, Cameron, Jeff, Kelly, and Landon; great-great-grandson, Matthew; and niece, Edna Luther.
