Theodore Blevins

Theodore Blevins, age 80, of West Jefferson, NC died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Avante of Wilkes. Mr. Blevins was born on February 14, 1934 in West Jefferson to James Edgar and Carrie Elliott Blevins. Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Loretta Blevins, brother, Charlie Blevins, two sisters, Irene Blevins and Pauline Church, and grandson, Richard Bowman. Theodore enjoyed fishing, singing and going to church. He retired after 27 years of service at Thomasville Furniture. Mr. Blevins served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. David Wellborn. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Blevins is survived by: son, Ricky Lee Bowman of Boise, ID; daughter, Margaret Burkhart of Belews Creek, NC; son, John Paul Blevins of Wilkesboro, NC; three sisters, Edna Shumate of Jefferson, Juanita Mullis and Ruth McNeil, both of West Jefferson; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
