Rodney C. Oliver

Rodney C. Oliver age 65 of Fleetwood died on Friday, April 15, 2016 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mr. Oliver was born in Marysville, CA on July 29, 1950 to Raymond Ellsworth and Clara Smith Oliver. Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Oliver. Rodney served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1968-1972. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Ashe Detachment and the NRA. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, he loved being in the mountains of North Carolina and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Roger Newton with military rites.

His wife, Millicent Oliver, two sons, Nathan Scott Oliver of Kansas and David Christopher Oliver of Idaho, one daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Oliver of Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Marine Corps League, Ashe Detachment.
