Ricky Warren Goodman

Mr. Ricky Warren Goodman, age 51 of West Jefferson, died on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Goodman was born on December 28, 1963 in Wilmington, DE to the late Warren George "Dub" and Ann Blevins Goodman. Mr. Goodman graduated from Beaver Creek High School, then attended Mars Hill College before earning his Master's degree at Appalachian State University. He began his teaching career in 1986 at Beaver Creek High School and retired from Ashe County Middle School in 2014. Ricky was a member and was serving as a deacon at Beaver Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with the kids at the schools, riding his motorcycle, and being president of the local car club. Ricky had a caring and helping nature, never wanting recognition for helping people in need.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Johnny Goodman. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Goodman is survived by: wife, Melissa Mock Goodman, two daughters, Lyndsi Goodman and Caroline Goodman of Home, his mother, Ann Blevins Goodman of West Jefferson, one brother, Michael Goodman and wife Shannon of Ferguson, one sister, Angie Miller and husband Chris of West Jefferson, nieces and nephews, Zoey Miller, Braylin Miller, Matthew Ball, John Ball, Patrick Mock, and Emmitt Mock.
