Joseph Banner Eastridge

Mr. Joseph Banner Eastridge, age 91 of Warrensville died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mr. Eastridge was born on May 16, 1925 in Ashe County, NC to Carl Schultz and Emma Banner Eastridge. Mr. Eastridge was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Eastridge, Carl Eastridge, Jr., John Eastridge, Theodore Eastridge, Charles Eastridge, Doug Eastridge, Edward Eastridge, Raymond Lewis; sisters, Mary Eastridge, Ann Dinolfo, Bonnie Jones, Thelma Thompson. Mr. Eastridge graduated from Riverview High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Eastridge was a member of Clifton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 39 years. He retired from Jefferson Wood Products. His hobbies included gardening and farming, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Clifton Baptist Church by Rev. Jimmy Galgano, Minister David Lyalls, Rev. Fred Greer, and Rev. J. C. Darnell. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery with Military Rites.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Clifton Baptist Church.

Mr. Eastridge is survived by: Wife, Josephine "Polly" Eastridge; Son, David Wayne (Joleen) Eastridge of Warrensville; Daughter, Sarah (David) Greer of Creston; Brother, Lonnie (Ruth) Eastridge of Warrensville; Sister, Jane Meador of Covington, GA; Grandchildren, Jenny Eastridge, Joseph Eastridge, and Jason Eastridge; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
