Jessie Severt Absher

Mrs. Jessie Severt Absher, age 94 of Laurel Springs died on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Absher was born on November 9, 1922 in Ashe County to Abner and Minnie Johnson Severt. Mrs. Absher was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Absher; sisters, Danis Jones and Janel Roberts; brothers, George Severt, Earl Severt, Tom Severt, Wiley Worth Severt, Lacey Severt, Morris Ray Severt, Blaine Severt, and Dale Severt.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tom Severt. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Absher is survived by: Daughter, Brenda (Dwayne) Atwood of Sparta, Daughter, Marlene Brooks of Crumpler, Daughter, Lynn (Larry) Powers of Laurel Springs, Sister, Betty (Joe) Ball of West Jefferson, Sister, Leafie McNeill of North Wilkesboro, Sister, Kay (Dean) Brooks of Hillsboro, Sister, Marsha Teaster of Grassy Creek, Brother, Jack (Betty) Severt of West Jefferson, Grandchildren, Mike Atwood, Scott Powers, Pam Richardson, Charita Cozart, and Shannon Brooks, Great-Grandchildren, Dillon Atwood, Evan Atwood, Seth Miller, Luke Miller, Tiffany Cozart and Grant Powers; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, P.O. Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640.
