Mrs. Jean Gilley Holbrook, age 87 of Warrensville died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Forest Ridge Assisted Living in West Jefferson. Mrs. Holbrook was born on April 6, 1929 in Ashe County, NC to George Edward and Callie Jones Gilley. Mrs. Holbrook was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Mrs. Holbrook loved to read her Bible and enjoyed going to church when her health allowed. She liked to have yard sales.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Dean Shaw, Rev. Clifton Greer and Rev. David Sexton. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Ambrose Jones.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Holbrook is survived by: Husband, James Holbrook; Son, Terry Eller of West Jefferson; Granddaughter, Terri Eller Hershkowitz of California; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
