Harold Ray Greer

Mr. Harold Ray Greer, age 64 of Creston, NC died on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mr. Greer was born on May 8, 1952 in Ashe County, NC to Onnie and Tressie Taylor Greer. Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Carpenter, and a niece, Wanda Weaver. Mr. Greer was a member of Little Laurel United Methodist Church. He liked to stay active and his hobbies included woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his dog Scruffy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Greer was always a help to his family and neighbors.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Rickey Mitchell. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Greer is survived by: Wife, Darlene Riley Greer; Son, Travis (Tonya) Greer of Millers Creek, Brother, Darrel (Shelby) Greer of Lansing, Brother, Ernie (Penny) Greer of Jefferson, Grandson, Josh Greer, Granddaughter, Alexandria "Alex" Greer; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
